New music up! Check out Kairos and Shimmer in the Music section. There’s some exciting news in my blog you should be sure to check out, as well!

After quite the hiatus, I’ve gotten everything going for my site again. Things have been down for a while so I could construct the new look and get some files converted and ready to go. All the sound files on this site are now in mp3 format, and there are a lot more recordings available. Hosting difficulties have been resolved, so my e-mail address is now working again too.
New pieces you’ll see are Kairos and Songs and Dances. Check them out!
As I write this, there are still some links that are down due to the fact that I haven’t gotten around to uploading all of the converted files yet. This shall be fixed this weekend.

Rehearsal on the wind ensemble pieces for my composition recital begins tonight! A big thanks to everyone who is involved. For those near Conway who might want to play in the ensemble, send me an e-mail. We’d be glad to have you (especially if you play percussion or clarinet!).

Mark your calendars! On May 3, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. I will be having a composition recital at the University of Central Arkansas. The recital will be in the Snow Fine Arts Center recital hall. The program will (tentatively) include:
Sonata for Alto Saxophone and Piano
Zarabanda Profana
Cries and Prayers for Female Voice and Piano
Intrada
Astarael, the Sorrowful from Necromancy
Concerto for Flute and Wind Ensemble
I have yet to requisition all the performers--they will be announced at a later date. However, the Rhapsodie Fantastique and Astarael will be conducted by two of UCA’s conducting graduate students, Meghan Langley and Marie Pokorski, and Ginny Hudson will, of course, be performing her Concerto.

Massive overhaul! Thanks to my roommate Trey for informing me that my computer did, in fact, come with Apple’s fantastic iWeb software. Now my cruddy hand-coded abomination of a website is no more.
This Tuesday, I’ll be performing with the University of Central Arkansas Wind Ensemble. It’s our first concert of the year -- everyone should definitely come check it out! Joseph Missal will be guest conducting Malcolm Arnold’s Four Scottish Dances and an arrangement of Amazing Grace by William B. Himes. We’ll also be playing Julie Giroux’s La Mezquita de Cordoba, As the Scent of Spring Rain... by Jonathan Newman, and John Mackey’s Strange Humors (with Dr. Blake Tyson on the djembe). It’ll be a good time for sure! The concert starts at 7:30 in the Reynolds Peformance Hall.

I am pleased to announce that the premier of the Concerto for Flute and Wind Ensemble has been tentatively scheduled for early 2009, with Ginny Hudson and Fort Smith’s River Valley Community Band with Charles Booker conducting. More details will follow as they become available!

For today’s momentous news: the website is launched. For now, it will be hand coded and it will look rather... rudimentary until I figure out some way to improve it (without expending too much effort, of course).
